This job forms part of the creative studio. The function of the department includes but are not limited to concept development, art direction, copy and guiding ideas from brainstorm through to execution. The studio team is primarily responsible for generating pioneering ideas and acting as the creative voice of the agency to represent the clients. The strategic junior copywriter will be expected to pair up with a junior art director but will also work in isolation and as part of the wider creative team.
Key performance areas (KPA):


  • Receiving briefs from the client service team and interrogating them as necessary to uncover what is truly needed to achieve the client’s objectives
  • Analysing the basic strategic need from a consumer and brand insights perspective, making sense of them and then conveying them in a digestible and powerful way to the clients as part of selling big ideas
  • Demonstrating this strategic underpinning of ideas through explanation, diagrams and other methods as appropriate
  • Working with the junior strategic art director and wider creative team to develop pioneering marketing and communication ideas
  • Thinking across multiple communication channels
  • Ability to draw creative threads between individual ideas to form campaigns and not just individual executions
  • Ability to ‘tell stories’ through the development of concise and powerful presentations that persuade clients
  • Responsible for generating stand-alone copy or text to complement visual concepts created by an art director
  • Understanding the message the client is seeking to deliver and translating this into attractive copy that is on brand and unique in its approach
  • Receiving constructive feedback from colleagues enthusiastically and using it to grow and improve ideas and as an individual
  • Ability to manage own time to ensure deadlines are met and having the confidence to raise concerns proactiviely
